PROJECT 16:49

We are a body of people who believe that Jesus Christ is Lord — meaning that God lived on earth in the form of Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus Christ taught us how to live, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and now sits at the right hand of the Father. Our congregation consists of people from every race, of many languages and nationalities (about 25 nations represented on a typical Sunday morning!), of all ages, educational levels, marital statuses, and economic levels. We are all sinners who have thrown ourselves on the grace of God, and we live with a joy and peace because God graciously forgives. God’s Holy Spirit lives in us, and changes us from what we should otherwise be without Him.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

We are one of the sponsoring churches for this community outreach project and support it with financial gifts, donation of items to the food pantry, school supplies, Christmas toys, and other items.

Family Meal Kit (Feeds a Family of Four) 2025:

2 cans of chicken, can of mixed vegetables, can of cream of chicken soup, can of evaporated milk, biscuit mix. **Please avoid glass items and pack any items inside a sturdy bag.

Items Needed:

Toothpaste, laundry soap, shampoo, deodorant, and Diapers (Size 5-6).

6/2 – Eat Out for Hunger All day at participating restaurants 

10/18 – Empty bowls at Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center

11/27 – Festival Foods Turkey Trot in Downtown Janesville

12/5 – S’More and Cocoa in Downtown Janesville 

Exciting News:

ECHO has received grant funding to provide 3 new housing units for those in need. The units will be duplexes and hopefully will be ready for occupancy by late summer/fall 2023. ECHO is working with Project 16:49 to bring 10 rapid re-housing units to Rock/Walworth Counties specifically for homeless adults 18-24 yrs old

Financial donations can be sent directly to ECHO or through the church. In addition, they are seeking volunteers to help with the sorting and bagging of the items.
